There was plenty of drama on the PGA Tour last week at The Players Championship with K.J. Choi beating David Toms in a playoff to become the first Asian player to win the golf tournament. This week, the Crowne Plaza Invitational begins Thursday at the Colonial Country Club in Texas.

Hunter Mahan leads the outright betting. He doesn’t have a good record at Colonial but won last year’s WGC-Bridgestone Invitational for his third PGA Tour title and tied for sixth last week at The Players Championship. It was his sixth top ten finish of the season, but he hasn’t finished in the top 25 here in seven apperances.

Jason Day is second in the betting and is a member of the Colonial Country Club. He also tied for sixth place last week in Florida and will look to put his local knowledge to good use. Matt Kuchar is third in the odds after his worst finish in a year last week with a tie for 54th. Zach Johnson shares Kuchar’s odds and is a better bet. He won this event last year and tied for 12th last week at The Players Championship.

Longshot Steve Marino has great each-way value. He has yet to win a PGA Tour event but finished second at each the Sony Open and Arnold Palmer Invitational in 2011. He finished in the top 20 at TPC Sawgrass last week and has two runner-up finishes at Colonial.

Former winners Rory Sabbatini and Sergio Garcia have some value as well. 2007 winner Sabbatini won the Honda Classic and has two other top 10 finishes. 2001 winner Garcia is still mustering a comeback and finished 12th in Florida last week. Veteran Kenny Perry won here in 2003 and 2005. But, he has struggled the last couple of years and finished 33rd at The Players Championship.
