Phil Mickelson is the World #3 and 2009 WGC (World Golf Championships) CA Champion. Despite not playing at last week’s Honda Classic or the WGC Matchplay two weeks ago, this looks to be the best bet for his first win of the season. Play runs from March 11-14 at the Doral-Blue Monster Course in Florida.

Nine out of the top ten are competing in the 58-man field, aside from six-time winner Tiger Woods. The Europeans also looks good in this one with Ian Poulter, the winner of the WGC Matchplay, and Paul Casey, who was the runner-up to Poulter. Casey also had a late surge in the Honda Classic to finish in a tie for fourth behind winner Camilo Villegas. Villegas is in top form after a five-stroke win last week and a third place finish in the WGC Matchplay. He finished fifth in the 2009 WGC CA.

Only Woods has won this tournament more than once, so history suggests a new name on the trophy. World #4 Lee Westwood could be that man on this course. Aside from Abu Dhabi, he has performed well in 2010 with three top ten finishes in his last four events. He also tied for 17th in the WGC Matchplay.
