The Guinness Premiership rugby final takes place on Saturday with the Saracens facing off against Leicester at Twickenham in London. The Saracens finished third in the league and now battle for the greatest prize in English rugby with league-leading Leicester.
The teams met twice during the Guinness Premiership regular season. Leicester ran away with a 22-15 victory in London for the first match. The Saracens got their revenge at Welford Road later with a 32-23 win. Leicester kept form to close out the season, winning four of the last five matches. The loss came against the Saracens. Each team won 15 games during the regular season, Leicester holds the best scoring record and the league’s second strongest defense.
The Saracens hit their stride at the end of the season as well, winning the last five matches against top quality teams to boot. They weren’t too strong at home but the team has a solid attack with the second highest points total in the Premiership. Leicester has the odds to win it but the teams are fairly evenly matched. The Saracens will be feeding off their last win over Leicester and are glad to play at Twickenham, which is pretty much home to them. This game could be a 5-6 point differential for either side. You might want to back both Leicester and the Saracens to win in the 1-10 point win margin since it’s a tight one. The regular match odds are below.
