Manchester City and Liverpool play Monday night in the Premier League. It isn’t often that we get to see a Premiership match of such epic proportions this early in the season so take advantage with online betting.

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini was busy in the transfer markets, investing a lot in some star-studded players. Striker Mario Balotelli delivered last Thursday by coming off the bench to score the winning goal in the 1-0 away match at FC Timisoara in the Europa League qualifier. It remains to be seen whether or not Balotelli will be in the starting lineup against Liverpool. Bookmakers have Carlos Tevez leading the odds for first goalscorer of the match. James Milner is another tempting offer along with Balotelli in that betting market.

Tottehnam Hotspur held Manchester City to a goalless draw at White Hart lane last week, so look for another draw against Liverpool. Five of the last seven meetings between City and the Reds have resulted in a draw. Liverpool underperformed at Anfield last week for a 1-1 draw against Arsenal. They won’t want to make any more unnecessary mistakes in the title race, but will be without the suspended Joe Cole and Danish defender Daniel Agger is doubtful to play with a minor head injury. Martin Skrtel would play if Agger is out. Coming off a compelling World Cup, Fernando Torres may replace David Ngog at striker. Torres has decent value to score the opening goal of the match, but it may be wiser to take the shorter odds for him to just score on the night.

The pressure is heavy on both clubs in this encounter and Manchester City could come out on top with their starpower. They are looking strong with the home advantage and I wouldn’t be surprised if they finished one goal on top of Liverpool. A 2-1 outcome has some good betting value.
