While France looks to have an RBS Six Nations Championship all but in the bag against England, Ireland will also play its final match at Croke Park on Saturday when it hosts Scotland in the last round of the tournament. Ireland has only two losses to Scotland in the last decade and both of those losses came at Murrayfield. The last one was in 2007 and has put an average low margin victory for Ireland.

Ireland is looking for its fifth Triple Crown in seven years. However, three out its last four victories have been below 10 points. The last meeting against Scotland ended with a gritty 22-15 victory for Ireland. The Irish form has improved since the loss to France in the second round. A convincing 27-12 victory over Wales last Saturday included Keith Earls scoring a brace of tries. Ireland’s backline is strong and healthy.

Scotland hasn’t won any of its four games in the tournament so far but is coming off a solid draw against England. The backline showed a spark that wasn’t present in the earlier rounds.  Look for the forwards to do well against the Irish front row.  Scotland is the underdog but should prevent a big Irish victory. If you don’t want to go with a straight up (SU) win, you might want to back the Irish in some alternative winning margin betting brackets, like a win within 10 points of the Scots.
