UFC 109: Relentless is set for Feb. 6 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s marquee battle will include MMA legend Randy Couture in a Light Heavyweight match. Couture is squaring off against Mark Coleman, another veteran with a storied past. It will be the first time two UFC Hall of Fame members face each other. This is just one of the many intriguing matchups the event has to offer.

Welterweight match: Matt Serra (-135) vs. Frank Trigg (+105)

Serra, age 35, lost his UFC welterweight championship belt two years ago. His overall MMA record is 9-6. Trigg, age 37, has come up short at the wrong times in his career for UFC championships. He lost welterweight title bouts to Matt Hughes in 2003 and 2005, but has a 19-7 MMA record. Serra is a good bet to come out on top in this one.

Middleweight match: Demian Meia (-375) vs. Dan Miller (+275)

Meia, age 32, experienced his first MMA defeat last August against Nate Marquardt at UFC. The Brazilian had won his first 11 professional bouts before the loss. Miller, age 28, is also coming off a loss. He fell to Chael Sonnen last May in UFC 98. Miller has a 11-2-1 career record, but Meia should be the last man standing in this one.

Middleweight match: Nate Marquardt (-350) vs. Chael Sonnen (+250)

Marquardt, age 30, had a chance at the UFC middleweight crown in a 2007 match against Anderson Silva, but fell short. He has an MMA record of 29-8-2. Sonnen, age 32, is coming off a victory over Miller into this match. He has a pro record of 24-10-1, but Marquardt should prevail in this one.

Light Heavyweight match: Randy Couture (-400) vs. Mark Coleman (+300)

Couture, age 46, is the wiley vet in UFC and MMA, and has many UFC records. He is one of only two UFC fighters to hold championship belts in two different divisions, those being heavyweight and light heavyweight. He owns the most UFC title victories with five and has appeared in the most championship bouts with 15. His past matches with Chuck Liddell evoke images of what UFC is all about. Couture’s overall MMA record is 17-10. Coleman, age 45, captured the first UFC heavyweight title back in 1997. He was set to meet Couture in 1998, but a knee injury to Couture canceled the match. Coleman left UFC in 1999 to join Japanese based PRIDE Fighting before returning to UFC last year. His pro record is 16-9. Couture takes this one in a battle of veterans.
