The Sprint Cup Series continues this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway with two great online betting opportunities: the Sprint Cup Showdown and Sprint Cup All-Star Race. First up on Saturday is the Sprint Showdown, a 40-lap race broken into two segments where the top two finishers qualify for the following Sprint All-Star Race.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. is favored to win the Sprint Showdown and is fourth in the current season standings. He hasn’t qualified for the All-Star Race because of his win drought. He has two top five and five top 10 finishes on the year.
Second in the odds is Martin Truex Jr., who won last year’s race. He is ranked 19th in the point standings and has three top 10 finishes on the season. Next is Jeff Burton, who is in the midst of a down year at 23rd in the standings. He doesn’t have any top 10 finishes on the year and didn’t qualify for two races.

The three top drivers are Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards. They are all within 37 points of each other in the standings and have at least one win this season, though Busch has two. Johnson is the only one of them to win this race, which came in 2003 and 2006. His average running position at the race is 5.5 and he has the best driver rating at 112.8.
Busch has an average running position of 7.7 and a second-best driver rating of 104.6. Historically, Edwards has done well in this race and hasn’t finished in the top 10 in his last three races at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
