Just like the men, the women draw their fare share of betting action for Wimbledon, which begins Monday at the All England Club in the suburbs of London.

Serena Williams leads the odds in her quest for a third consecutive Wimbledon championship. She lost to Vera Zvonareva this week at AEGON International in a rematch of the 2010 Wimbledon final and is now ranked 26th in the world. But she has reached the final in six or her last eight times at Wimbledon and is a four-time champion. She is the seventh seed this year and if she gets headway through the first week, she could be on her way to her 14th major championship.

World No. 6 Maria Sharapova will need to play like she did in the 2004 French Open when she upset Williams on the way to her first major. She is one of just three former Wimbledon champions in the field. If she plays aggressively like she did in Paris, she could return to the final for the first time in seven years.

World No. 33 Venus Williams is a five-time Wimbledon champion. If her serve is on point, she could reach her ninth semifinal here. Serena and her have won nine of the past 11 Wimbledon championships, but there is some young talent this year that could break through like Caroline Wozniacki, Petra Kvitova, Victoria Azarenka and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.

World No. 4 Li Na is the reigning French Open champion but lost to Serena in the 2010 quarterfinals here. She is 7-2 against top-10 opponents and reached the finals at the Australian Open and Roland Garros. A third straight major final appearance is within reach.

World No. 1 Wozniacki has some value if she can finish. She has a WTA-best five tournament titles on the year and has reached at least the semifinals in nine of 13 tournaments. However, she hasn’t made it past the fourth round in four prior Wimbledon appearances.
