Who will be the next Fulham manager? The market is hot among bookmakers right now. Martin Jol was predicted to take the job but now he is more likely to stay in Holland. Fulham Chairman Mohamed Al-Fayed fought hard for Jol so his change of heart must be difficult to accept. The job at Craven Cottage is a lucrative one and there are plenty of coaches in the running.
Roy Hodgson went to Liverpool after taking Fulham near the top of the Premier League and to the 2010 Europa Cup Final. Jol was seen as the perfect man to replace him after seeing success with Hamburg and Ajax in the three seasons since he left Tottehnam Hotspur. If Jol remains at Ajax, Cardiff City boss Dave Jones may be next in line. Jones is dependable and respected throughout the game. He would be a solid choice worth backing at short odds.
Jones is second in the betting lines at William Hill behind Sven Goran Eriksson , who has been highly sought after by many teams all over the world lately. Many people believe that Eriksson would welcome a return to the Premier League so he would be the safest bet for Fulham. Another option is Gianfranco Zola, who was unluckily let go by West Ham last season. Zola is more of a gamble for Al-Fayed though since he wants the club to remain in the Premier League this season. Bob Bradley is another longshot with good value. But, the USA team coach may not be a good choice since he has no Premier League experience.
