The Nassau Stakes is the second Group One race at the Glorious Goodwood Festival and takes place on Day 5 (Saturday), the last day of the event. The race features some of the biggest three-year-old filly horse talent in the UK and Ireland, including some older former Group One champions.

Typically, the Nassau Stakes is dominated by three year olds, but Midday, a four year old, leads the sports betting odds this year. The Henry Cecil-trained horse won the Nassau Stakes in 2009 and placed in the English and Irish Oaks. She won the Group One Filly & Mare Turf at the 2009 Breeder’s Cup but has only raced once in 2010, which resulted in a second place finish in the Group Two Middleton Stakes. She is priced too low for an each-way bet and isn’t a lock in this quality field.

Stacelita shined in the 2009 French racing season, taking three French Group One races before failing in the Prix de I’Arc de Triomphe. She hasn’t been consistent in 2010 with a fourth place finish in another French Group One race before nabbing her fist win in three races in a French Group Three race. The UK field will be tough at the Nassau Stakes but she is still high enough for an each-way bet. The Aiden O’Brien-trained Lillie Langtry was third in the odds before withdrawing so that leaves room for Ireland’s Contredanse with your online betting. The horse is in good form with three wins in three races and has plenty of value at the Glorious Goodwood.
