The WGC-Cadillac Championship tees off Thursday for the fourth time at the TPC Blue Monster Course in Doral, Florida. Every one of the world’s top 50 golfers will be competing in the elite 69-man field so it brings plenty of value for your online betting. World No. 1 Martin Kaymer leads the odds to win it but there are some others with good value.

Kaymer finished third last year in this strokeplay event. It’s the second World Golf Championship tournament on the season following the WGC-Accenture Matchplay last month. Kaymer finished runner-up to Luke Donald in that event when the top four world rankings were taken over by Europeans.

World No. 4 Graeme McDowell has been strong and steady in 2011. He tied a course record 64 at the Honda Classic last week as he builds on last year’s U.S. Open win. That impressive final round last week jumped him to a tie for sixth in the event. Last year, he shot a 66 in his final round at Doral so he has good value to get another U.S. title under his belt.

World No. 3 Donald tied for 10th at the Honda Classic and is more of a stretch to back for his second straight World Golf Championship. World No. 2 Lee Westwood has been a bit off form lately, finishing tied for 29th last week.

Tiger Woods continues to get decent odds after slipping to fifth in the world rankings. He has won the WGC-Cadillac Championship six times, the latest coming in 2007. But, he went down in the first round of the WGC-Accenture Matchplay so he isn’t worth backing until he proves he can win in 2011. 2009 WGC-Cadillac Championship winner Phil Mickelson is just behind Woods in the odds but the World No. 6 hasn’t been consistent this season so he is best avoided as well.

A couple longshot bets to watch include Ernie Els and Y.E. Yang. Els won this tournament last year and in 2004, but tied for 70th at the Honda Classic. Yang hit a final round 66 at the Honda Classic to finish a shot short of the winner Rory Sabbatini. He has three top 10 finishes in his last five U.S. tournaments and could be worth backing to finish in the top 10 again this week.
