The inaugural Greenbrier Golf Classic is in the second round at the Old White Course in West Virginia. Jim Furyk led the antepost odds for the PGA Tour event. The World #5 golfer shot a 5-under first round and is looking for his third win of the season.

The current leaders are Scott Piercy and Boo Weekley at 8-under. Tied for third is Scott Piercy, Richard S. Johnson, Jimmy Walker and Erik Compton, all at 7-under. Compton is the most heartfelt story of the tournament. Playing on a late sponsor exemption, the double heart transplant recipient is playing the best golf of his life.

Furyk, who is fifth in the FedExCup points standings, can pass Ernie Els into the top spot with a second place or better finish at Greenbrier. Furyk missed the cut at St. Andrews in the Open Championship, but has two top 10 finishes since winning the Verizon Heritage back in May. He has great value in a field short of top 20 players. We should see plenty of low scores at Greenbrier since the par 70 course has easy fairways and kind approaches to greens. With that in mind, look for players currently performing well for your online betting since there are no surprises on the course.

Matt Kuchar also deserves mentioning. The World #24 golfer is 1-under after round one, but has three top 10 finishes in his last four tournaments and played quite well in the Open Championship. He shot a 29-under in the Bob Hope Classic and could be the man to beat if he makes a comeback. Don’t underestimate Charlie Wi, either. The South Korean is 4-under and has two tied fourth place finishes. He also tied for 15th in the John Deere Classic and tied for 21st in the Travelers Championship. He has some really good each-way value at Greenbrier.
