Ruby Walsh has a difficult choice for his ride at Aintree in the 2010 John Smith’s Grand National on April 10. The decision will come down to Paul Nicholls and Willie Mullins. Nichols could ride Tricky Trickster and Big Fella Thanks and Mullins could ride Snowy Morning. Walsh looks to be going with the Nicholls contenders since both are in top form.
Tricky Trickster has top odds after the shock at Newbury with the Aon Chase victory. Tricky Trickster looked to be a shoe in for the Grand National, but then Big Fella Thanks came onto the scene in a big way. Big Fella Thanks was sixth last season. He has experience jumping over the big fences with the Greatwood Gold Cup win early this month. It is anyone’s guess who come out with top odds on the day of the Grand National.
Snowy Morning under Mullins is the third horse in contention and has been somewhat of a Grand National specialist in recent years. He finished in third place in 2008 and came in ninth last season. He has been a surprise in 2010 with good form so far and is a good each way bet.
