Just like the Big 12, the Mountain West begins its conference tournament today. There is only one game slated for today at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The MWC Tournament fields nine teams. The game today includes the eighth and ninth seeds. The winner advances to the eight teams left running from Thursday through Saturday. There are four games on Thursday with the quarterfinals, followed by the semifinals on Friday and the championship game on Saturday.

For sports betting, San Diego State and UNLV are at the top of the odds to win the tournament outright. BYU also has short odds to win.

BYU (28-3, 14-2 MWC) is the top seed holding the tiebreaker over SDSU in conference play. BYU, which recently dismissed top player Brandon Davies for the remainder of the season for violating the school’s honor code, won this tournament once in 2001. SDSU (29-2, 14-2) is the No. 2 seed and has won this tournament three times, the latest coming in 2010. UNLV (23-7, 11-5) is the third seed but have home court advantage. UNLV has won the MWC Tournament three times, the last one coming in 2008. The schedule for the next two days is below. Times are EST.
