If you fancy prop bets, take your pick with Super Bowl XLV. There are hundreds of prop bets ranging from player and team statistics to exotic ones like TV ratings and who wins the coin toss. Unless you want to gamble for fun, I wouldn’t suggest going with the exotic prop bets. I mean, who really cares about the length of the national anthem?
With that being said, spread your wagers around, especially when it comes to risky prop bets. In certain cases, the risk is worth the reward, like my top three below.
Second Half Anytime TD Scorer (odds provided by Ladbrokes)
Rashard Mendenhall: 13/8
James Starks: 10/3
There are many other players with decent odds for this bet, but these two are the workhorses who will be relied on when it counts. If Mendenhall doesn’t score in this game, the Steelers are going to be in trouble. Either Mendenhall or Starks will probably score in the second half. Mendenhall has three touchdowns this postseason. Starks has one.
Will John Kuhn Score a Touchdown? (odds provided by Titan Bet)
Kuhn scores: 3/2
Kuhn does not score: 1/2
If Green Bay gets down in some goal line situations, Kuhn is a good bet to score. He had a rushing and a receiving touchdown against Atlanta in the divisional playoffs. He doesn’t get many looks, but he’s trusted for the tough, short yards in the red zone.
Number of Total Field Goal Attempts (odds provided by Party Bets)
Less than four: 4/7
Greater than four: 5/4
This one may seem like a stretch, but these are two quality defenses. Each have solid kickers and, while weather isn’t a factor in the dome, there are bound to be some stalled drives. Pittsburgh’s offense hasn’t played to their potential. Green Bay’s offense has been clicking but they haven’t faced a defense like the Steelers and they don’t have much experience under the pressure of the Super Bowl.
