Liverpool travels to DW Stadium tonight to face Wigan in a match with the season on the line for the Reds as they look to sneak into fourth place in the Barclays Premier League. Liverpool is currently in sixth place but is only one point away from fourth.
Reds manager Rafa Benitez is hoping to get Glen Johnson back in the lineup after being out since the end of December with a knee injury. Wigan started out strong but has just one win in 13 league matches. The last match between these two teams resulted in 2-1 win from Liverpool with goals from David Ngog and Fernando Torres. Wigan is almost at full strength but history may repeat itself in this one as the club has never beaten Liverpool. The team has been too hesitant in front of the goal and will be fighting hard to play in the league next season. Young midfielder Victor Moses has been a desperately needed spark but he probably won’t be able to match up against Liverpool.
