The 2011 Six Nations is getting underway right now with Wales and England at Millenium Stadium. It’s an important first rugby match with two quality teams.

Millenium Stadium is a hostile atmosphere for any opponent and gives as much as a six point lead for Wales. On top of that, Welsh coach Warren Gatland has been criticizing the temperament of England’s Dylan Hartley. Last year, England beat Wales 30-17 at Twickenham. It was the first English win in four matches. This year, each team has been revamped.

Martin Johnson has brought in many young players to the English side after much success in the autumn internationals. Chris Aston leads the bunch, who won the international try of the year against Australia. Leicester’s Ben Youngs impressed in the Heineken Cup and had an international man of the match performance against Australia in November. This is his first ever Six Nations start.

Tom Wood get a difficult debut at Millennium Stadium. Lewis Moody is out and Mike Tindall is captain. Home field advantage is key for Wales after losing to New Zealand, Australia and South Africa in autumn. They have made eight changes to the lineup since then and will be relying much on James Hook’s kicking. Only four players are left from the Grand Slam winning team of 2008, so Shane Williams will be relied on heavily as well.

If England’s young players can handle the intimidating atmosphere, we could see a tightly-contested rugby match with good betting value. England is currently up 10-3 in the first half.
