Shortly after the tip between Ohio State and Kentucky, No. 11 VCU (26-11) and No. 10 Florida State (23-10) get underway in the Southwest Regional. This is a matchup between two Cinderella teams fighting for a spot in the Elite Eight. Florida State is a 4-point favorite.

VCU has been the best underdog story of March Madness. After beating USC in the play-in game, the Rams have more wins than any other team left in the NCAA Tournament. Not only did they upset some top-ranked teams, they did it with room to spare. They beat Georgetown 74-56 and followed that up by beating Purdue 94-76. The Rams had four players in double figures in the win over Georgetown and the offense rolled again over Purdue, led by Bradford Burgess’ 25 points. The 18-point victory over Purdue was their largest NCAA Tournament win ever. Now, they face another double-digit seed that has been beating up the competition.

It’s no secret that Florida State relies on its defense. The Seminoles led the nation in limiting opponents’ field goal percentage. They have shown they belong in the tournament after holding Notre Dame to 31.7% and their past six opponents to a combined 34.3%. They beat Texas A&M 57-50 and rolled past Notre Dame 71-57 as the offense came to life. Bernard James scored 14 points and Michael Snaer added 13 against Notre Dame.

For your sports betting, VCU is only 16-10 ATS and the over/under is even at 17-17. But, it has been a completely different story for the Rams in the tournament with a 7-0 record ATS in their last seven NCAA Tournament games. FSU is 16-10-2 ATS and hit the under in 16 of 28 games. The Seminoles are 3-2 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last five neutral site games. But the total has gone under in six of their last seven games.
